Options:
The ESBG starting current limiter is inserted between the mains connection (grounding outlet) and the consumer device to which the starting current is applied. In order to ensure convenient handling, the casing of this device is designed as plug-in unit and equipped with a grounding outlet. The functioning of this device is based on the time-delayed bridging of an NTC resistor which is carried out as soon as a current flow originated by the activation of a consumer device, is detected. This device is current-driven, so it also functions in the event of secondary switching. Due to the characteristics of the NTC limiting resistor, time intervals between several consecutive starts should be at least one minute. Possible applications: Electric power tools such as grinders, garden tools (e.g. compost choppers and shredders), electric consumers with primary switched- mode power supplies.
