Activation current limiter

Application: Limitation of starting currents in electrical devices, e.g. transformers, electric motors, etc. The starting current limiter is connected directly in series to a device which is exposed to a high starting current. Alternative manner of fastening: Snap fixation for DIN 50022 mounting rail,TS 35. Design: The ESB type of design is constructed for a nominal current of 16 A. Experience shows that a limiting resistence of 5 ohms (standard) is generally sufficient. In certain cases depending on the starting current peaks and, in particular, on the frequency of the peaks and/or the peak widths, longer ON delay or higher limitation resistances may prove to be necessary. Caution: Due to the incorporated overtemperature protection the starting current limiter requires a certain cooling down phase between the switching cycles. The time between two switching cycles should be approx. one minute.
