Mains transformers

One-phase mains transformers in accordance with VDE 0570 (part 2-1) are designed to safely supply voltage to electronic circuits and devices in the standard frequency range of 50 or 60 Hz. Primary and secondary coils are galvanically isolated from each other. The output voltages of mains transformers are often rectified, smoothed and stabilised with downstream rectifiers, suppressor capacitors, screen capacitors and varistors.

Isolating transformers

One-phase transformers in accordance with VDE 0570 (part 2-4) are designed for electrical isolation of current circuits and are thus provided with protective isolation between the input and output winding. Isolating transformers prevent hazards due to accidental simultaneous contact of the earth and live parts. Due to isolation faults in unfavourable situations, parts which are not intended to be live may become live.

Safety isolating transformers

One-phase safety isolating transformers in accordance with VDE 0570 (part 2-6) are designed to supply current circuits with safety extra low voltage (SELV). Safety isolating transformers should supply a device or distributor circuit with AC voltages of up to 50 V or smoothed DC voltages of up to 120 V. With this limitation, the occurrence of higher and more dangerous contact voltages is prevented.

One-phase starting transformers

ISMET builds starting transformers for rated outputs of up to 500 kVA. Starting transformers are required for operation of machine tools, machining centres and insertion machines and adapt the available mains voltage to the supply voltage of the machine. Without voltage transformation, the one-phase transformers can also be used as isolating transformers for higher output ranges.

One-phase multi-voltage transformers

One-phase multi-voltage transformers can generate output voltages from 10 to 500 V or 1 to 50 V from a given input voltage with appropriate connection. Series terminals with screw connections or plug connections enable safe connection of the connecting cables to the multi-voltage transformer.

One-phase universal control transformers

One-phase universal control transformers are designed to supply auxiliary current circuits, such as control circuits or signal circuits in controller and machine construction. Universal control transformers have universal coils on the primary side which can be used with appropriate connection for mains voltages of 200 to 560 V. Series terminals with screw connections or plug connections enable safe connection of the connecting cables to the universal control transformer.

Empty housing

For installation of various transformer types, ISMET provides empty housings as a thermoformed housing, plastic housing or steel sheet housing. Depending on the version, the empty housings have cable bushings, fastening lugs or fastening rails and are suitable for correct floor and wall installation.

Toroidal transformers

We deliver our one-phase toroidal transformers in accordance with VDE 0570 (part 2-1) as one-phase isolating transformers or as one-phase safety transformers. Toroidal transformers from ISMET are available to you in an open design with free, isolated connection ends or with mounting brackets and terminal connections and encapsulated with protection rating IP54.

Control transformers

One-phase control transformers with electrically isolated coils in accordance with VDE 0570 (part 2-2) are designed for the supply of auxiliary current circuits, such as electronic control circuits or signal circuits in controller and machine construction. Control transformers are characterised by low voltage drops with inductive loads and can deliver high temporary output, e.g. when more than two contactors have to be switched. The output voltage must not drop by more than 5 percent from the rate value due to the activation currents of the control devices. Control transformers are used in general controller construction, in special power supply devices and particularly in circuits which require mains isolation.
